Always exhausted.?!

Question: In the morning, it seems that I have a HORRIBLY difficult time getting out of bed. My body just feels drained and exhausted, even if I've had my 7-8 hours. Usually, I get to bed about 11-ish, and wake up around 7:30.
I am trying to describe the feeling - it just feels like my body weighs 15 tons, and that I simply am too tired to exist.
I don't like this. I would LOVE to be able to get up earlier - to exercise, cook breakfast for my sweetie, prepare for the day, etc., but it seems like I just CAN'T.

I am 24, I work a full time job and take online college courses, I smoke, and I drink (not a huge amount, but probably more than I should) - I don't have any illnesses that I know of. I have good nutrition, and try to eat very healthily. I am not overweight, and I don't have apnea (that I know of).

It just seems that no matter how much sleep I get, I always feel like I need more, and don't wake up refreshed at all. Help! This has been going on my whole life.

Tough question... from a medical standpoint, it may be reasonable to check your thyroid function and rule out anemia (both simple blood tests).

You may need more sleep... perhaps you aren't getting good quality sleep or you have built a sleep deficit with time. 7 hours is probably not enough sleep for a busy person like yourself.

I doubt mono... usually you have a bad sore throat, swollen glands, and fever. And most 24 year olds have already been exposed to the virus and are immune.

You may have mono. Some people show no or few symptoms, and it can last for months. Get yourself tested, it's surprisingly easy to catch.

things to check: hormones (thyroid in particular).

Things to consider: Lyme disease, mono, mycoplasma (chronic type), lupus, MS, sleep apnea, depression.

BTW, regarding the suggestion of the Royal Rife machine, they were sued (successfully) due to a death attributed to it. It seems quite fishy. Read wikipedia about it.

I guess you've looked into Epstein Barr Virus. I had that with your symptoms for 5 years before seeing a doctor who did a blood test and found what it was. Take as much vitamins as you can stomach, and maybe find someone with a Royal Rife machine or buy one, but there about 2 grand. That machine is supposed to cure anything, even cancer. Hope you get better soon. I know how you feel.

Perhaps you have Chronic Fatigue Syndrome. Some symptoms are: unexplainable and/or recurring fatigue, doing little things and feeling exhausted afterwards, and not feeling refreshed after getting a good night's sleep. It may not be CFS (it's rare) and fatigue could mask lots of other illnesses so you should either consult a doctor and/or do more research on it to see if your symptoms match up.

Try a 7 day juice fast and you will feel much better.
