Can't get up in the mornings?!

Question: I am so tired in the mornings, although I get 8 hrs sleep, I just cannot get myself up I am like a zombie, I press snooze a million times, then quickly shower and throw my hair up wet, 5 mins on the make up and off to work.
Any ideas to make myself wake in the mornings so I can get spend more time getting ready in the mornings?

I have tried putting my alarm clock across the room but my boyfriend and me share one right now and he doens't like that :S

There could be a few ways of looking at this. It is possible to get too much sleep. If you regularly sleep 8 hours a night try cutting back by an hour each night to see what happens. However! sometimes 8 hours of sleep isn't enough for some people. Try getting to bed earlier. Continue to use the alarm clock and make sure you have a natural light coming into the room. Sunlight wakes us up naturally and happily. Lastly, regardless of weather you're getting too much or too little sleep I would say that your nutrition is probably whats effecting you most. Drinking too much caffeine consuming too much sugar and empty calories like chips, snack and fast food will effect your energy levels. Make a change to your diet. Lay off the sodas / coffee / energy drinks and lousy food. Eat lots of protein (meat, nuts, beans) and plenty of veggies. Take a multi vitamin and drink lots of water. Healthier life style will give you more energy and help you sleep better.

You're probably not getting enough sleep. Young people really need at least 10 hours, this has been proven in studies. It's hard to do, however. I had this same problem when I was younger...now I can't sleep for more than 7 hours, I just wake up and I'm done.

maybe you are lacking a vitamin or something. i would suggest going to the doctor and having some blood tests done. Start there, because it isnt like you arent getting enough, you just can't wake up when you have to wake up...best of luck

Get a sound system to wake you up.. Put it really loud so it scares you awake.. That works.. Didn't use to be a morning person.. until I tried that..

Quit smoking if you do and start getting less sleep. Try to run on 5 hours of sleep throughout the week and 8 hours on your off days.
