Sleeping Issue...?!

Question: I am starting to get some unusual habit of oversleeping. I am grade 12 right now, with decent marks in IB program. My friends are wondering how I can survive my full IB when I am getting over 10 hours of sleep every day. (And I often sleep even more in the weekends.) I barely do any homework, just doing the ones that count for marks. I prepare for test in the last minute, if I prepare at all. This is why I have this time luxury.

I have been wondering... maybe this means I am going to grow now. (My height in shorter than average (mid 160cm...) and I am starting to hope that maybe I am going to get taller.

But I really need to somehow cut my sleeping time for university. Do you recommend that I continue to sleep like this until university to see if I can grow? Or will you offer some strategies to cut my sleeping time (Without taking caffein...) so that I can be prepared for my post secondary education?

Any realistic and effective help would be most appreciated.~

You should exercise more, and watch your diet. Eat more fresh fruits and vegetables, and less processed foods or fast foods (like McDonalds).

You might also consider taking vitamins. That sounds like too much sleep, and it would worry me for you to sleep that much. Activity and a better diet would be your best bet.

If you are still sleeping so much, you might think about seeing a doctor to see if there are any medical causes that need to be addressed.

Good luck!

It wouldn't be a bad idea to ask a doctor about your problem. There could be a physical or even a mental problem.

Don't just ignore this.

Good Luck
