Drug help?!

Question: Whats the difference between Lortab, vicodin, and oxycotton?

Answers: Whats the difference between Lortab, vicodin, and oxycotton?

Lortab and Vicodin are the brand names for a combination drug containing hydrocodone and acetaminophen (Tylenol). These both come in various strengths. OxyContin is the brand name for oxycodone and is in a controlled release form meaning that is is absorbed more slowly in the system so its effects last longer. Oxycodone has a higher affintiy for the opiate receptors in the brain so it is stronger for most people. Lortab and Vicodin have the additive effect of acetaminophen so it is more effective on certain types of pain and can relieve fever. All of these are opiod analgesics or pain relievers. They are controlled substances which means that you have to have a prescription to take them legally. OxyContin is prescribed for severe pain and Lortab and Vicodin are usually prescribed for moderate pain. All of these can be dangerous if taken other than prescribed because they are central nervous system depressants and can make you stop breathing if you take too much. Hope this helps.

Lortab and vicodin contain acetaminophen and narcotic analgesics and act in the CNS to relieve pain. Oxycontin contains aspirin and narcotic analgesics and act in the CNS to relieve pain. so guess the difference is all in the ingredients.
