Can you please help me explain to my cousin why it's bad to hit her head on !

Question: She punches herself in the head, or hits it on walls, her desk, and stuff like that.
She usually does it when she's bored or if she's mad at herself. She says she just gets these urges to do it, and most of the time she actually hits her head.
