What do you do if you forget to take your antibiotics for a day?!

Question: I'm on a 14 day antibiotic treatment and I forgot yesterday to take, it was 2 pills a day. Cefuroxime. Should I just keep taking them as prescribed? Will that missed day affect me at all?

Thanks!

just continue taking the right doesage and continue taking them. missing them once won't make that big of a diffrance

As the bottle says if you miss a dose just pick it back up ASAP and stick to the schedule.

It wont really make a difference unless you do it a lot.

Do not take the word of someone online for this though-consult the bottle. Any further questions should be directed to your pharmacists and doctor, not random idiots.

The guy ahead of me is 100% correct. It's best to consult your medical professional.

As for me, I take the dose as soon as I remember. Just don't double dose yourself in an effort to make up for the "lost" time. That can be dangerous depending on the antibiotic.

Continue taking them until the prescription is used up. The idea is to build up the level in your system. So do not worry and do not forget any more.

Don't worry..............JUST FINISH TAKING THEM. You were far enough into the treatment that there is a buildup in your system. One day isn't gonna throw you back.........BUT YOU MUST FINISH THE ENTIRE BOTTLE. Go for it.

go with showtunes advice he knows what he's talking about! the same thing just happened yesterday with my 5 year old son taking amoxicillan?? i missed last nights dose. he is to take it every 12 hours, his pediatrician told me to give him an extra dose today. instead of morning and night, morning , afternoon and night. hope it helps.
