Why do my chest hurt when i cough?!

There are any number of reasons for why your chest hurts when you cough, but I would suspect possible pnuemonia or a bacterial infection of some sort that is making your chest hurt.
Or, you simply may have coughed long enough and violently enough to have bruised your ribcage from the force of the coughing.
PLEASE go see a doctor ASAP.
It sounds like Bronchitis. Is your mucous yellow or green?
I would see a Doctor and get a diagnoses, because an ordinary cold cough, should not hurt like that.
