Major stress can cause lack of sleep, irritibility, medical problems like heartburn, ulcers, loss or increased appetite, stress on the immune system, etc. Ways to de-stress-exercise or physical labor is helpful to some. I get a massage, manicure or any other relaxing activity, I listen to slow music to slow myself down. Doing something nice for someone else like volunteer work will take your mind off your problems.

Almost any health problem can be caused by stress. In order to de-stress, you need to find things you enjoy, things that take the everyday stress and helps reduce it to manageable levels.
