How can I overcome food phobia?!

Question: I used to have no issues with food, but after a recent incident I have developed some fear of food. I was on a train and had bad diarrhea and vomiting. My sister was there but I totally lost control of my whole system and I was in India at the time (I was previously living in the UK). Since then, I have again come to India for a couple of years for work. Now, when I travel somewhere or feel nervous, my digestive system starts getting hyperactive. Also, I can't eat before traveling for fear of losing control of digestion in an unknown place. I get nervous diarrhea where previously I had no issues. Any techniques that can resolve this? I

I would try to relax and take deep breaths, and most of all, I would try my best to think of more pleasant experiences other than the nightmarish one that you are dealing with...I would try to forget about it and move on and eat things again....Take small bites and set small goals...I wish you luck...I hope that it gets better for you.

Mind over Matter

You just have to dive and go for it. But it doesn't hurt to be safe. Just make sure the food you are eating isn't expired, and make sure you wash it first too. Don't eat anything that your dog wouldn't eat is a saying I always go by. Okay, I just made that up haha, but if the food looks like there may be something wrong with it than do not eat it.

It's sort of like getting sick after eating hot dogs and hating hot dogs afterward. It will pass in time. If it really worries you, see a doctor or counselor.

See a therapist & she/he can help you get through this phobia to the point that one day, you'll overcome the phobia. Right now, you think of traveling & can't eat because of your phobias. It's psychosomatic & that's why you need to see a therapist who deals with phobias.

Try eating more nutritious foods, and light like fruit, rice, crackers, something really remarkable for more than digestive problems is papaya fruit. Carry some dehydrated papaya to munch on or you can go to a health food, (natural) store, and they will have papaya enzymes. Very tasty tablets, that are great for any digestion, and good for your breath. I use this and it's the greatest as far as I am concerned. Not only this but you may be having motion sickness, I do this when I am traveling. Can't keep water down. Dramamine (not sure it is spelled right) is good for this. Or they will have something at the health food store to help. I can't even read while I am in a vehicle or ride in the back seat, and forget a boat ride in the ocean, been there done that, and that was the sickest I have ever been in my life.
Good luck to you
