What do you do to get rid of a bad (and I mean bad) head ache?!

Question: My mom has had a bad head ache for a little while, yesterday morning to now, and apparently its kind of bad. So what are your methods for making your head aches go away?

I recommend she sees a doctor. She may be suffering from an underlying illness which is causing headaches as a symptom. Her headache has continued for a while, though. It is probably not serious, but could be if not treated properly. She may have developed migraines, which regular medications don't really help, or even have high blood pressure, which can cause headaches. In very rare cases, headache can signal a stroke. I assume she has tried all kind of pain relievers and nothing is really helping. Headaches are sometimes caused by dehydration. I recommend ensuring your mom is well-hydrated. Another way to help a headache is caffeine via a strong coffee or tea. It constricts engorged blood vessels and alleviates the pain. Good luck and I hope your mom feels better soon.

tylenol & yoga. theres this one yoga move that i usually do. pretty much kneel & then bend forward so that your forehead is on the ground. then stretch your arms out or put them where ever. it works for me.

I can't answer that one-----I been trying to get rid of one myself-----The doctors say they think I have intracranial hypertension----whatever that is------so if you find a cure for the headache let me know....tylenol, motrin, aspirin, lying down, midrin, topamax, maxalt, none of that has help me...so good luck.

Two glasses of Gatorade often works.
I am serious here and NOT NOT NOT kidding around.

EDIT EDIT
Sorry. I meant to say NOT kidding around.

mhmm. i have been having head ache for days. they say drinking lots of water helps. relaxing, closing your eyes for a bit.

Where is the pain?

Try putting an ice pack on the back of her neck. Have her take 2 Aleve or Advil every 4 hours. Drink weak tea, plain toast. Have her lie down in a dark room.

If it's in the back of her head it could be tension or it could be high blood pressure.

She should get checked by a MD.

lay down, tea then water.always drink water
