Terrible terrible Insomnia, I can't fall asleep. Any tips I tried everything!


Question: I want to be able to fall asleep with sleeping pills. I took ambien,xanax,tylenol pm, rozerem, lunesta, and I become addicted and feel like crap in the morning.
I tried drinking a warm glass of milk, listening to calming music, tried reading. I turn off everything in my room and try and fall asleep but just can't, I can't stand when I'm laying down for an hour so I get up for 15 min. and then try again but can't.
ANY TIPS?

Could be you need less sleep than most people, so you are trying to force more sleep than you need. Are you falling asleep during the day? One habit to not get hooked into is taking long naps during the day, with insomnia at night. If you take a nap, take it early if you can (like after lunch) and never sleep more than 35 minutes. If you can't fall asleep in five minutes, you don't need a nap. At night, stay up until you're tired if you are having episodic insomnia. The next day, struggle through until bedtime without naps.

Are you stressed? That may be the cause. I had the same problem and sleep paralysis for a couple years. I found melatonin worked for me, but most of all getting rid of the stress in my life has helped me to sleep soundly again.

this honestly works for me. I lay down close my eyes get into a comfortable position then pretend that someone is standing over me with a baseball bat and will smack me with it if I look like I am awake.

I know it sounds weird, but it works for me.
