Does anyone have anything negative to say about AARP?!

Question: As a senior my current insurance is giving me problems about covering certain meds. My doctor has to do extra paper work and I have to go without or have to pay out of social security. One would think a prescription would indicate you need it espicially if you have been taking it right along. The 1st of the year a new insurance comes along and all heck breaks loose. A friend suggested switching to AARP. Any suggestings.

My grandma is over 80 and she has prescription coverage through aarp. It was one of the only companies who would take her with part a medicare but no part b. She pays 26 bucks a month and gets her meds for areound 5 bucks. They were 300 dollars each month. Big drop.

Sure, their members usually vote selfishly as a voting block.

As far as the actual program, sorry I'm not much help.

Actually my mother is a member of AARP and we were amazed to find out that they will not cover you with insurance if you are over a certain age and they will drop you when you hit that age. Can't be positive of the age but I think it was 80

yes i do,

My husband is retired and has AARP supplemental to his medicare. So far, it has been good, but then he hasn't had to use it. So, we will see.
