What are the stages of sleep and what they do/are?!

Question: 1, 2, 3 ,4, 3, 2, REM

stage one is when you are just falling asleep when you are pretty much still awake... but falling asleep

stage two is when you are less conscious. you may still be able to be woken up...

stage three is the same but it will probably be hard to wake the person

stage 4 is the deepest of sleep. and theres a good chance you wont be able to wake the person up because they will be in deep deep slumber

and yeh... REM (rapid eye movement) is when you dream the most... you are partly conscious... so people can wake you...

dreaming happens in all stages of sleep

each cycle is about 90 to 110 minutes long

sleeping repairs red blood cells in the body, encodes memories...

along with the brain. sleep is one of one things psychologist cant quite fully understand... they just know we cant live without it

hope that helps =]
