I have known people to smoke anything from grapevines to banana peels... dried parsley is popular so is cloves...
some people use tobacco and paper!they rub nicely with hands put it in the paper and smoke!
some people in my school smoke basil (sp?)

yes in my home state of Virginia that is one of the staple crops and i have seen quiet a few of the old timers just pull a cured leaf of tobacco off and put it in a Prince Albert roiling paper and smoke it
Yes it's true, I make my own ciggarettes with filters, I just use premade filter's, my to tobacco injector(Tubing Machines) and Rolling Tobacco(Not Bread or Herbs)!!! For pictures see:

Yeah, sometimes it's just regular tobacco and a rolling machine, with or without filters you buy separately. Sometimes it's coarse tobacco that is kind of like an offcut - not exactly legal but it happens. I know of someone who was so desperate for a smoke they used toilet paper and lavender. Apparently it was the most foul thing ever. A good kind of smoke is combining sage and mullein, as smoking these herbs actually helps your lungs, rather than destroying them.
actually yeah when i run out of smokes i have a rolling machine that you put filtered paper tubes in one end, tobacco in the top, usually from fresh cigarrette butts, you push the top down, pull the back bringing the paper over the tobacco and voila! homemade cigarette!
