Valium (Diazepam) and others such as Xanax, Klonopin, and etc... are Benzodiazepines class IV Medications, OxyContin is class III, it is very risky, I have heard of others taking both. I think you need to cut the Valium, (taper). You can go to Yahoo Benzo for help. Oxy Contin I have been on myself, had no trouble coming off, but Klonopin (Clonazepam) was terrible to come off of. I think it is risky, not to mention you will build tolerance.

That's pretty risky for me to even answer. Have you tried calling your local pharmacist? I'd call about five of them and see what all of them say..

Taken as prescribed it is OK and very common to be prescribed together. However, it should not be a long time solution. I only do this when I am in SEVERE pain !

Did the doctor tell you to take the Oxycontin and Valium TOGETHER or was that your decision? Why would you be taking Oxycontin if you are not terminally ill? It was developed to treat end stage cancer but many doctors got extremely careless and started prescribing it for less severe pain. I don't know the severity of your pain but I DO know that Oxycontin is the most addictive painkiller of them all. Valium is an addictive tranquilizers. If you've been taking Oxycontin for more than 10 days and the Valium for more than 30 days, you may want to consider a good heart-to-heart talk with your doctor unless you are terminally ill. You may want to consider alternatives. As for myself, you couldn't tie me down and make me take either medication and, God forbid that I should ever take them together. It may be time for you to get a second opinion.

Instead of valium, you can try a technique called EFT which is costless, easy to do and very efficient.
It's a great way to get rid of phobias, fears, addictions, traumas and emotional issues in general. . You can find out more information and even get a free (donate if you want) consultation here: http://www.info-santanyi.com/eftservice/...
