Sharp pain above stomach?!

Question: I was in the grocery store shopping and all of sudden got a very acidy vurb and then a few minutes later sharp pains either in my stomach or right above my stomach on the right side. Any thoughts as to what it could be? For the record I didn't eat breakfast and took my medicine on an empty stomach and the sharp pains went away but still have an acidy taste in my mouth. I need to go eat and I'm sure I'll feel better.

this is the reason why medications say take with food or water, to help absorb the effects of your pills, you'll probably be o.k. ... but in the future, follow the instructions on the bottle.
your meds caused reflux when they activated, nasty taste in mouth and throat, and reaction in your stomach.

im no doctor but it sounds like it would be the meds on an empty stomach.. have u done it before?
