My Doctor said I should use "hot compresses"--?!

That basically just means that you warm something up and then hold it to wherever your doctor says you should hold it. You can get hot compresses at a local store or pharmacy, but simple rags or washcloths run through the microwave will often suffice.

If this is related to pain from an injury, then cold compresses will actually work better.

You should call your doctor for further advice on this, and make sure you find out how long to leave the compresses on. That can be pretty important.

Try either investing in a Magic Bag or putting a cloth under VERY hot water and pressing it against the area where it was suggested that it be used.

he should of also explained this to your parents and you both. call the doctors office and have the advice nurse explain in detail what the doctor wants you to do.

I usually get a wash cloth wet and then wring it out in the sink and then microwave it, stick it in a ziploc bag, then wrap it with a dish towel...this will be warm enough for 15 minutes of hot compress....
