I never heard of getting a deep voice by having tonsils removed. The pitch of your voice depends on the size of your Trachea (wind pipe) and the movement/size of your vocal folds. Your voice might change a little bit, because there will be more room in your throat, but you wont sound like a man. I think you'll feel much better once your tonsils are out. You wont get sick as often and you'll be able to breathe easier!

Having your voice affected by having a tonsillectomy is a potential, very unlikely complication of the operation. This can happen to anyone, not just girls though- as i say, it's almost impossible to happen these days.

If you dont get them dealt with the recurrent infections you get can cause scarring and can spread to the vocal cords which can affect your voice as well! Infections have other risks as well which the doctor will go into. The large tonsils can affect your breathing, such as when you play sports and it's easier for you to choke with them in the way.

Everything in life has risks but i think surgery is the wisest option.

You tonsils have nothing to do with the voice box and hormones, both of which control the tenor of your voice.

It's a myth. Don't worry. My Mum had her tonsils out when she was a kid and she doesn't have a deep voice at all :-)
