Does the Red Cross throw away blood donations that contain Marijuana?!

Question: what do they test it for?

Answers: what do they test it for?

the demand for blood right now is very high. and so are you i guess. ha ha . no i dont think they will thow it out.

Thats a good question I am curious to see the answers...

I think that pot smoking is much more common than society makes it out to be. So if they did throw it away they would never have enough for people who needed it. Thats just a guess on my part though.

Yes

the answer is no, and no. I have been giving blood for years, and for a few of those I was a regular smoker (pot). I was always thanked and encouraged to come again!

Probably yes. Also if you weigh less then 115lbs, they will not take blood, because you may die.

Also they take a test of your blood and tell you the results.

I have wondered about this myself.

They should do, unless they take the marijuana out of the blood some how ^^

Really hope so.

No. THC is not a threat when it's in blood. They test for things that will harm you, like hepatitis, HIV, etc. A little pot in the blood stream won't hurt you at all, so they don't really care.

Also, before you ask, if you receive a transfusion from a pot smoker, then you go take a drug test.... the answer is no, it will not show up on your blood test that you smoke pot.

Yes.

No they won't throw it out. Liked the way Steve worded his
reply. Funny but sad that its probably true.
