Should I still exercise when I'm sick?!

Question: I may be getting the flu (I think)... I am starting to cough and I have muscle aches.

-Is it a good idea to follow my normal routine of exercise when I'm sick?

I exercise regularly 4-5 times per week (kickboxing and light weight training). The kickboxing class at the MMA gym I go to is a fairly intense 60 minute workout. The weight training class is a non-stop 30 minute circuit workout supervised by an instructor which is very intense.

-Or should I let my body rest and continue my routine after I get better?

Thanks!

I think that you should let your body rest, or else you may wind up feeling even worse. If you feel good enough to stretch, that should be fine, but I don't recommend an intense workout.

no.i think so not.you should rest.

i think u should rest,,cuz once i got ill and i went to jym and next day fever got more worse

A good rule of thumb is, if your symptoms are above the shoulders, in the head, e.g.head cold, do what you feel like doing, if the symptoms are below the shoulders e.g. chest congestion, cough etc.,rest until it clears up.
