Can you get cancer by eating a cigarette?!
Question: As a joke, my buddies and I cut up a couple cigarettes and it mixed the pieces into a fried rice dish of our friend's. We told afterwards. He was mad...? Sometime about cancer... but I don't think the harmful toxins get into your lungs if you aren't smoking it.

Tree tobacco has been publicized as a safe, hallucinogenic plant on some Internet websites (1). However, smoking or ingesting the plant has lead to death (2; 3; 4; 5; 6; 7). Although goats, sheep, cows, and horses have died or suffered from birth defects due to eating this plant, teratogenic effects of this plant in humans have not been reported (8; 9; 10; 11; 12; 13; 14; 15; 16; 17; 18; 19; 20; 21).
Well, I don't know about getting cancer from it, but some of the chemicals in that cigarette are pretty scary: Ie) Rat poison, nail polish remover, ammonium(Toilet/bathroom cleaner), cadmium (rechargable batteries) etc.
You can't get any kind of cancer from ONE cigarette. However, people who use tobacco products like Skoal can STILL get cancer, really bad kinds like in their mouth and tongue. So not smoking it but instead using chew is not healthier.
Of course, lung cancer and heart disease are almost a sure thing with smoking cigarettes.
Eating that much tobacco can make a person pretty sick. If I had friends like you, I wouldn't need any enemies. That's for sure.
