What is a good way to keep from getting sick all the time in a homeless shelter.!

Question: I've been paroled to a homeless shelter, thnks to my parole officer. There are people very sick in here, and I've been sick 2 times in here in 1 month since being placed here. Any-Who, I've been under alot of stress being on parole, and working after one week of my release and I am also out and about in the weather in denver. I have a strict policy for myself for washing my hands quite often here, but once again I am sick. People are always coffing and spitting and carrying on with total lack of respect fro their felow man. I am very active in excercise and I eat well despite of where I am, what should I do?

It is really good that you wash your hands all the time.
You need a good multi-vitamin, & mineral (this can be in the same pill, generic is cheaper like at Walmart) and take 500 -100mg of Vitamin "C."

If you are a smoker, you need the zinc that you are depleting by smoking.

Zinc and Vit "C" are the best to fight colds.

Drink at least 8 cups of water each day. This is very important to keep hydrated.

Try to eat healthy, raw fruit and vegetables are best if you can get them.

I know it must be difficult where you are living. I really hate it when anyone coughs in my face!

You should try to remember that as bad as your situation is, it's so much better than it is for a lot of homeless people. Imagine, you have access to a computer. How many homeless people are that fortunate? Also, when you were incarcerated, weren't you exposed to sick people all the time? Give thanks for what you do have and keep working toward the day when you can find a better place to live. "Keep your eyes on the prize."

hiya love, sorry to hear the place you are in at the moment. I think your biggest problem here is the fact that if others have viruses then you are probably going to keep catching them.

All I suggest is basic hygiene. And get yourself a first aid pack, keep warm, and keep as clean as possible. You should also try eating raw garlic as well, or raw onion, anti fungal and antibacterial, I don't think you will give cold a chance to set in and it will be cheaper than buying medicine, It doesn't taste nice but it is really good for your system and your immunity levels for a boost. Adding ginger to your tea as well will keep you on top form. Raw is the key. As I said it won't taste nice but it will give you an edge.

Go to your doctors for regular check-ups can help as well and maybe getting a flu jab if you can. If you get any surface cuts TCP or some vodka, whatever is the cheapest, will work fine for surface wounds however if you have a fight or mix blood with anyone else, seek medical advice straight away. That is all I can think of good luck love.xx

Get a can of antibacterial frebreze and spray it all down.
