Should I stop drinking caffeine?!


Question: I tend to drink 0.8 litres of tea in the morning, and then maybe two coffees in the afternoon. I have tried stopping entirely before, but I suffered from severe migraines. Is there any way to wean myself off?

I stopped cold turkey. The headaches only lasted a few days. Once I got past a week, I was fine and now I feel a thousand times better! It's worth suffering through a few days of headaches to have more energy!

Don't completely stop. Slowly reduce the amount till you can quit.

I had this problem and I just went cold turkey. The first couple days sucked but then I was ok. Good luck!

best to just stop cold turkey at least that is what I was told

you should try smaller sizes for a week, then one less drink one week, then smaller sizes one week, then one less, and so on. occasionally treat yourself!

well caffeine can be very unhealthy sometimes. But I would start limiting your amount of caffeine

I get migraines too if I don't drink my coffee. I don't have any intentions of stopping as it is one of the few things in life I still enjoy.

You can try having half caffeine mixtures during the day and slowly decrease.

By the way, caffeine does not have adverse health effects in moderation. Any ignorant posts that say so, need to read up on current medical information on the health benefits of coffee and tea, including caffeine for weight reduction among other things.

Yeah, caffeine isn't really good for you. Try drinking a cup less a day for two months and gradually cut it out completely.

Those headaches are from withdrawal of caffeine. Just drink less and less caffeine drinks a day To where you are no longer drinking caffeine anymore.

Just slowly cut down on how much you drink. Headaches are normal when you stop caffeine "cold turkey."

yes if you dont youll get withdrawls i would suggest splenda!

I too am very addicted to caffeine....Ice tea that is...I would consult your doctor. Caffeine is supposed to help with migraines and is in most over the counter headache meds. But your doctor can prescribe you something for the migraines and that might help with the with drawl. Good luck!

I have found that smoking pot helps those migraines.

stick to the tea... it has so much less caffiene than coffee... if you were a girl i would tell you to stop becuase caffeine intake is directly connect with premature births

A little caffeine is good for the system, reduces your chances of Altsimers (sic). Your intake doesn't seem excessive to me.

You can get decaffeineated teas and coffee. When I think I have
had enough caffein I switch to decaffeinated. I am a big tea &
coffee drinker and don't want to give it up so that's what I do.
