How can a girl be colorblind?!

Question: would their mom be a carrier of the disorder?

Answers: would their mom be a carrier of the disorder?

The father has to be color blind. A normal seeing man cannot father a daughter who is color blind. He only has one "x" to give, so if he's a normal seeing guy, that "x" will be the dominant gene of seeing normally, which will overpower the "x" gene from mom, even if hers is the recessive "x". If Dad is colorblind, he's giving his daughter the recessive "x", and if mom gave a recessive "x" as well, then that girl is colorblind.

girls can't be colorblind its impossible

I think for that to happen, both parents have to be carriers of the gene.

why would a boy be colorblind?
