Question: How in the world do I get over being "needle-phobic"?

Answers: How in the world do I get over being "needle-phobic"?

I did it thinking that the mosquito bites hurt even more, which for me is true. One mosquito bite can bug me for days, specially if it gets infected...I don't know any other way...sorry, hope this helps!???

become a heroin addict

get a lot of shots

jab ureself 500 times

You gotta face it.

I was a horrible needle-phobic. I had be held down to get needles because I would scream, cry and fight (this was well into my 20s).

Then I got sick and they had to take blood all the time. I just got over it. When you don't have a choice, you deal with it and the only way to get over any phobia is by exposure.

In retrospect, the funny part about it is that it really doesn't even hurt - it's just the fear of it!

Good luck!

don't look at the needle unless they are going to inject you with something then make sure it has no air in it, then relax and bite your sleeve but don't break your teeth.

Oh man, I never had a phobia of needles, but I get scared when it's in a new spot.
They don't hurt, persay. They feel like a splinter that goes away in a second.
I think.. as silly as it sounds... take one of the brushes with bristles on them, and press them in various spots on your body.
My reasoning is because the needle won't be a shock anymore. It won't be like "omg I've never felt that before"... much like I was sitting in the dentist's chair *cough*
So, try that. It prickles, is why I suggest the bristle-y brush, and not in the comfortable way. But just getting your brain used to the uncomfortable feeling may just do the trick!
If it's some other reason you're scared, I'm afraid I'm no help!
But good luck!!!

im the same way... just start crying everytime you get a shot. this helps you not concentrate on the needle and more to stoop crying and take it like a man/woman... lol

or do what bambi said lol

I'm needle-phobic too...but I just deal with it...I have to...get
Novocaine shots when I get my teeth worked on...almost every visit...blood work done to check to see if I have lung cancer again...and I'm sure there are many diabetics that have to give themselves shots of insulin every day that are also needle-phobic...so it's a matter of really just gritting your teeth and bearing it...trying to think "happy" thoughts just doesn't work for me :(

you dont have to get over it. when you're at the doctors as fast as you walk in look straight up and explain why and tell him/her to tell you when they're finished. you wont feel the needle and you wont even know what happened.

Dont know if that works i've never tried that because i love getting shots and i love needles.

Stop thinking about it.

just sit down and take it like a man,i used to be the same,i now get the flu injection every year.the needles are so sharps now,you don't feel them.

U don't get over it, you just learn to deal with it. It's something you need to have done every now and then. You need to find something that works for you. Main thing, don't watch. You may not even feel it. Even if you do, the pain goes away quickly. Which most of the time, i've realized, it really doesn't hurt that much. A hang nail hurts worse. Good luck to you.

I understand i hate em the only thing i can say is Face your Fears! I really don't think theres a solution sometimes you just gotta do what ya gotta do!

You have certain things that you have to do whether you like them or not, this is one.You have to grin and bear it ,no one likes them.
