Do you think that smokers can be ignorant to people around them?!
Question: I am an ex smoker I quit around 17months ago and it is the best thing I have ever done other than having my baby.
I quit because I was pregant. I find that people come and stand next to me at bus stops and light up right next to me and my baby. With no worries about all the smoke going straight into mine and my babys face.
I have to walk away form them to get out of the direction of there smoke. I find it very rude.\
I dont want any smoke going into my babys lungs.
Do you agree that they are ignorant?

Yes... and it is rude and arrogant, but do you remember the time when you fell into that classification too....17 months ago! Good on you, that you have now realised its dangers!!
The Government is not really not serious in this effort to make this world, a smoke free zone. The price of 'Fags' should be made sky high as in some countries overseas.... and jokes a side, it really works, like in NZ!.

Yes. My bosses smoked around me for eight months. The primest example is my own sister. I have nasal polyps and I have a heightened sense of smell. Its really painful when I smell things I dislike, like cigarette smoke. She knows this and knows I have to irrigate my sinuses yet she still smoke and comes near me. I cover my nose and run, and she gets insulted. WHAT!!!??? she like seeks me out to smoke next to. So ignorant...and RUDE!!
I find that it's not that those type of people are ignorant they just plain don't care. Smoking is an addiction, and like any other addiction the person doesn't care what they do to those around them while they are intoxicated with their addiction. They just care about the 'high'.
Now I'm not saying that ALL smokers don't care. I have a few friends that smoke and they never smoke inside and if we're outside they ALWAYS ask if I mind if they smoke. But there will always be those in the bunch that just don't care about how it affects those around them.
my husband smokes and i think he does it so much that he never stops to think about anyone around him. i do believe that they are ignorant. try asking the ones around to put it out for the baby. some will and some want. i think smokers are just here to bother the non smokers.
I believe that some smokers can be rude. Were you that rude when you were a smoker? Because your blanket statement infers that you are also ignorant. You were a smoker.

Totally. I work in an hospital and I used to see people smoke there all the time, especially on bars. Once, I was alone and 4 guys came to my table smoking at my face just because there was an ashtray. They didn't even realize how it was bothering me. Since January the 1st, an anti-tobacco law was instaured in my country (Portugal) and now it's forbidden to smoke in close spaces. The smokers complain that their freedom is being taken away, but they're only tasting a bit of the abuse we have been suffering for so long.
Yes, In New Zealand smoking is banned in bars,pubs and public indoor areas including gambling areas. I have a lot of health problems and im glad i can walk down the street without having secondhand smoke blowed all over my face
Yes, although I am a smoker, I always ask before I light up even when I have visitors in my own home. In public I try to find a spot where no one else is and the wind isn't blowing toward someone else.
To do what you have described is just plain inconsiderate.
