Sleep schedule off should I stay up 24 hours to get it back on track....?!

Question: Tues- went to bed at 7 a.m. then woke up at 6pm
Wed- went to bed at 7.am and woke up at 6pm again
Should I stay up all night and day(it's 3a.m. right now) and can't fall asleep until 7am this morning and then I'll end up waking up at 5 pm (which I don't want)

No dont stay up - it would mess you up more. Just try to adjust your sleeping habbits slowly. Body does not adjust right away.

no why would you do that
it will screw your sleeping schedule up even more
why would you go to bed at such crazy times? it is because of a job? i hope so...

No...just go to sleep at 7AM, and set your alarm for around noon. I know you'll be miserable forcing yourself to get up, but hopefully you'll survive the rest of the day and be able to go to bed at a decent time tonight.

Trying to stay up until then probably won't work...I've tried and failed miserably, only messing up my sleep schedule more. Sometimes the only way I can fix mine is to end up sleeping a ridiculous amount of time [like 15 hours, haha]...but I don't recommend that. Just go to sleep when you can, but only for a few hours.

hmm everyone else will disagree, but i would probably take a similar action. I'd survive on no sleep, but i have stuff to do all day so i don't have a choice.

edit- i dunno reading these posts and from my experience i would rather stay up go to sleep at 8 p.m. or as long as you survive and you will wake up at probably not 7 pm. Orrrr you can do the apparently recommended choice and make your life miserable for two weeks to slowly adjust you sleep cycle.

if you think you can handle it.. watch though, even if you do that you'll be wondering why the $^$^ your not able to fall asleep

oh no ...try and sleep when you can

Are you a night shift worker who is having a day off of work and therefore you want to go to a day schedule? If so, staying up the whole 24 hrs won't work. You'll need to take a nap somewhere in between and then force yourself to get up earlier than you normally would through an alarm clock. And then stay up until the desired time you want to sleep.

When your sleep cycle is thrown off, just start making yourself go to bed earlier and then with a wk or 2 wks you should be able to get your sleep schedule back on track. See if it works. It always helps me.

Probably not. Do you have obligations like school or work? Try to get some exercise in and eat healthy, of course. If i get a really good workout in (which doesn't happen very much anymore) i usually sleep allot better. Don't watch TV before bed, or eat near when you want to go to sleep. Don't drink any caffeine today.

wow, thats almost how my sleeping pattern was off, i went through a time where i was up til 10 am and would wake up around 8 pm. and i would try and stay up as long as i could, and i ended up staying up til 4 pm. and i would sleep til around 11 pm. and then i would be up, get tired around noon, push til 4, and do it all over again, but then one time i went to bed at 4 pm, and got woke back up at 7 pm. at that point i was sooo tired, so i tried to stay up as long as i could which was til about 10 pm, and that knocked my sleeping schedule back to normal.

so maybe, you can try to do that somehow...i dont know how to explain how to do it, cuz i never meant to do it...it just happened...

i have an easy solution to get to sleep... get drunk (if you're legal of course).

Do NOT stay up all night. I would say go to bed as early as you can and the next day make up for lost sleep by taking a nap, waking up and then going to bed at a decent, early hour.

No! Sleep deprivation is very bad for you. Go buy an alarm clock from Walgreen's and set it for the time you need to get up.

just go to sleep at 7am and set your alarm to wake you up after a few hours that way by the time night comes around you'll be sleepy and get to bed at a normal time if thats what your aiming for
