Why do I have drainage at night in my ears and flaky stuff produced all day?!

Question: During the night, I can feel some kind of liquid or drainage running through my ears, depending on which ear is against the pillow. All during the day I will have mass production of wax and flakes and no matter how much I clean them, sometime during the day it will build up again. What's going on?

You could have what is called Cholesteatoma. I won't explain you just need to see a doctor. Preferably an otolaryngologist (Ear Nose and Throat specialist). I don't mean to scare you, but I've seen these and you really should see the doctor.

Sinus's running amuck you may need to go see an ears, nose and throat specialist to have your ears drained

see a dr

You could have an ear infection or excess fluid in your ears. I suggest you go to the doctor and let them help you with finding out which one and they can put you on the proper meds to help.

i had the same problem. i went to the doctor this afternoon, and she said i had an abnormal amount of earwax, so she pumped my ear out with water and the earwax came out and now it's fine. go to your doctor and they might do the same thing, or something else depending on what it is. but according to my doctor q-tips are bad for the ears...

Me too!! I think it is a combination of dry skin and maybe an infection (either bacterial or fungal). I have used a couple of 'natural' products that help a lot. Tea tree oil cream helps to moisturize and it will kill bacteria and fungus. I also have used a product called Wally's Ear Oil that is just a mixture of herbs and oils that soothe the ear. It also moisturizes and controls bacteria and fungus. Both remedies, or similar products, can be found at health food stores. Best of luck...

I have the same problem but mine started after I go punched in the ear over a year ago. I doesn't hurt or anything just drainage and flaky wax. Hope you get some good answers.
