OUCH! Horrible Inverted Nasal Hair!?!

Question: OK, so the tip of my nose has been sore and sensitive for a while now and I didn't know why. Anyway, today it erupts and a hair growing in the wrong direction (ie: up through my nose and not down inside my nostril) turns out to be the cause of it. Has anyone else been plagued by this phenomenon and moreover, does anyone know what might have caused it?
