Why do people need a drug for everything?!

Question: I see this a lot in questions. Someone has anxiety - take a pill, someone has a headache - take a pill, someone has depression - take a pill, someone has a hang nail - take a pill - take a pill - take a pill!

No wonder why the pharmicudical companies are weathier than ever! What are we coming to as a society when we look to a pill to solve our problems. What is our deal?

Oh...take a pill!

Just kidding...but I would be interested to hear more about that hang-nail medication, lol.

The longer we live, the worse we get.

instant answers and gratification.

no one knows anything about homeopathic methods which can be even better than manufactured pills.

You're right.

I love your sarcasm as it gave me a healthy and much needed laugh this morning. I know you are being serious though and I totally agree.

Last week I asked the store clerk when they planned to make a "manners pill" cause some guy was being a total jerk to her.

Anyway, yeah we do have drugs for almost everything except stupidity!

Its easier to take a pill than to deal with reality.

i am in a behavioral psych class and they each it like this....

people do not want to face the real problem which is the behavior so they mask it with drugs...

for example: ADHD
I would act a fool to if my parents would sit and read to me every night...parents reinforce these types pf behavior plus they get extra help in school....Dont need a pill just stop reinforcing the behavior and spank em!

This country is abolutely becoming too dependent on pharmacologic intervention. There are many incidences in which drugs are beneficial in healing, however, I believe that doctors often don't take the time to try nonpharmacologic treatments. i.e. meditation or relaxation techniques for anxiety.

Man is intfact his own enemy...He dont knows the consequences of whatever he is doing ...I think we must change ourselves and our surroundings first...We can change ourselves just by SELF CONTROL...Once we succeed in doing so we can make the other people aware of the worst aspects of these pharmaceutical drugs...

Alot of times they work, but the side effects with alot of them aren't worth it at all. It's a shame insurance and or S.S. won't cover alternative methods. There are some herbal healers that really work but are scoffed at because they are not a drug. And not being a drug can't make the pharmecutical people Rich.Chinese, native americans and alot of cultures have worked on and used them for thousands of years.Blood pressure, anxiety, etc.

yeah, u r right. They, (the doctors and the environment) are partly responcible for the condition u get, before and after u take the drugs.if u become ok, they claim all the credit. if not, they have some convuluted way of saying u r always wrong. there is a joke running in my circles on this. it goes like this :
u get into MBBS , even though u dont desreve it.ur dad paid the donation - should not the college survive.?
u passed the degree with distinction- paying touts the money for ur certificate - should not the touts survive?
u set up a clinic and treat patients - get money - should not u survive?
the patiient bought the medicine -- should not the drug company survive?
the patient dumped the drugs into the dust bin and became alright-- should not he survive?
