How come sometimes when i smoke weed , my heart races, and my breathing is short!

It's just shortness of Oxygen...take a few deep breaths between hits...and no your not dying...THC has no known lethal dose.

well, maybe just some heart muscle and brain cells are because:
You're probably having heart palpitations which means the valves in your heart arn't getting closed all the way and oxygen isn't getting to your muslces or brain; which is why you are breathing harder.
don't smoke pot! or weed! or crack! or marijuana! seriously, you will die sooner than if you didn't smoke. stop. now. save your life, for your own good.
Because:
1) your systems are getting over stimulated.
2) some of your cells are dying.
3) its not good for you.
