How do you get rid of head lice?!

Question: You need to get a shampoo like Rid or Quell to kill the active lice. Then you will need to use a fine comb to get the nits (eggs) off the hair shaft. Finally, you need to wash and use a dryer to launder all sheets, pillowcases, blankets, etc. to make sure that all the lice are killed. Other members of the family also need to have their heads treated, as lice are very contagious. Good luck.

There's a kit you can buy in grocery stores that will inform you on what to do. It usually involves shampooing the child's hair with a special shampoo and also using a comb to get rid of the eggs. If your child is in school, he/she shouldn't go back until the lice is gone. The school nurse can check this.

Go to the drug store. Ask the pharmacist. They should carry head lice treatments and shampoos. There's one called Nix, I think. Then you basically have to give your house a good scrub down(my sister said she had to et some special stuff to treat her house since her kids have so many blankets and pillows) and put any stuffed animals in trashbags and keep them in the trunk of your car for a couple days so the heat will kill anything on them. Hopefully you're in a warmer place and not in a cold place.....

There is a shampoo and such you can use called Nix. You also need to sterilize and spray EVERYTHING in your home that would be fabric that they can cling to. I stress everything because my friend's 5 year old kept getting it because they weren't spraying/killing everything in the home and they ended up having to shave everyone head in the home and doing treatments over and over again for 3 months.

Engineer a strain of flesh eating bacteria that feed on the lice, but preferably not human flesh, skin or hair...

Alternatively go to Boots (or your preferred pharmacy) and buy a cream for it, you run it thorough your hair with a comb usually and it takes around 10 mins.

Go to the department in your store where they sell bandages, ointments, itch creams, etc. Somewhere in that department you'll find those little kits for curing head lice. I believe there's a topical solution you apply, and a special comb that helps "comb the lice" off of the hair's roots.

The good news is that you can take care of this without going to the doctor. The anti-lice kits are over-the-counter medication--no presciption needed.
