RetinA produces a peeling of the skin allowing new healthy skin to surface. It will often cause redness, drying, and cracking around the nose and mouth. It does decrease the incidence of acne and may diminish some fine acne scars. If you have more pronounced scarring you may want to consider some type of in office lasers or IPL procedures. You can get these laser procedures at Med Spas, dermatologists, or plastic surgeons. The RetinA will take several weeks, 4-6, and does cause photosensitivity.
If your acne is bad enough to really bother you you should go to a good dermatologist....dont worry, he has seen acne worse than yours before......let a good derma. prescibe a treatment for you.....my oldest son years ago was put on Accutane and it worked wonders for him in about a month and a half......dont rub and scrub - it will make your skin worse......work out a payment plan for a few visits to a dermatologist......they will help you big time. (No, I am not a dermatologist or work for one!!!*****)
