Taste receptors are located on the tongue and in the mouth, but a TON of what we taste is based on what we smell.

Yh I know thats really wierd, but I guess we only smell with our noses

no it kills your tastebuds so you can not taste

The two senses are linked very closely. I dont think we taste with our noses but our noses play a big part.

no we smell with our noses but, the oxygen to the tounge and taste buds enhance the taste. and your mind can smell something and if it's strong make a fairly strong guess as to the taste

Actually, yes. The taste buds can only detect sweet, sour, salty, bitter, and savoriness. All the other flavors out there are your sense of smell in action while you're eating.

half of what you taste is becuz of your nose since smell is the only sense that is not processed through the brain, it hits the thalamus directly....so yah..that should explain it...

You smell with your nose and taste on your tounge cant believe you havent figured that out yet. Your just congested. 2 much mucas to taste or something like that.

our noses don't literally help us taste, it's just the smell of food that helps us identify what something is.

Did you know that apples, raw potatoes, and raw onions all taste roughly the same if you plug your nose? it's there distinct smells that enable us to tell them apart.

Smell and taste are related if you have a bad cold nothing tastes the same.

Absolutely. Much of what we call taste is actually a reaction to odor.

In a way we do taste with our nose. When served a meal at restaurant we first look at it then our body allows us to smell it (it take a short while for the brain to signal)... if it has an unpleasant aroma then the meal will be less appealing...
