Can I break gel capsules?!
Question: I went to the doctor and got a prescription. It turns out that the pills they gave me were in the form of gel capsules, and I can't swallow pills. Would it be bad if I broke them and got the powder out? I don't know how to take them any other way.

i have the same problem! i actually asked the pharmacy today. its fine. its just as effective broken. I usually put mine in a spoonful of ice cream. It hides the taste better! :)

Put it in a small piece of bread and swallow it it like that. You wont even know you're taking it. I'm pretty sure it's bad to break capsules. Most of the bottles warn you against doing it.
If your prescription is capsules, sure you can take the contents out of the capsules. However anything else should not be broken. If your meds are caplets, try dissolving the caplet in a teaspoon of water & bravely swallow! Good luck!
