Answers: What are rats unable to do that makes them extra vulnerable to poison?
True, they can't vomit, but they have other ways of avoiding toxins. They eat clay or shredded wood to 'dilute' the toxin until it is excreted or egested and have developed a sophisticated food avoidance strategy to avoid poisons.
I'm not sure what you mean, but it is only that the poison is presented as food that they are susceptible to it. Common rat poisons weaken their blood vessel walls etc and causes them to bleed to death internally. Very nasty.
[edit]Can't believe I didn't see the point of the question. I'll put it down to the fact that it's Friday....I'm dumber on Fridays.
