Why does the smell of puke cause someone to puke?!
Question: My guess, and this is just a guess, is that it's wired into our brains and goes back to when small bands of humans shared food among all members. If something was poisonous, spoiled, etc., and it made one person ill, and that person vomited, it was in the best interest of all to disgourge. Maybe those who did survived more often than those who didn't, the reflex grew stronger as it was shared among like parents, and the population that survived and bred passed that reflex on to their progeny. It's a good guess, no?
