What do i do about fever,cough,and joint pain?!

Any over the counter flu med he can take. NOT ASPIRIN!!! That can cause a life threatening condition known as Reye's Syndrome. Tylenol, Ibuprofin, that sort of thing. Buy the cheapest chicken pieces you can find (even necks, and leave the skin on, and you can even smash the bigger bones with pliers) and simmer them in water to make broth. Leave it go for hours and hours, to keep broth on hand. Chicken broth is good for this, reducing some symptoms and soothing others. Gatorade to replace salts if there's vomiting (or Pedialyte). Clear sodas are good for energy (pale ginger ale is well tolerated) and fluid.
I've been doing chicken broth tonight with a touch of Szechuan stir fry sauce mixed in to make it zingy. It's really good. Started out as chicken wings, but I'm having so much fun I might let them boil down to bones by the time the night is over. The cartilage and skin eventually turn to gelatin, easily digestible, but it takes a while. You can do the same thing with pigs' feet, but they're really gross. Get backs, thighs, drumsticks, necks, hindquarters...any cheap chicken does the trick.
If his whole body feels achy, then he may be coming down with the flu. It is going around lately and the only thing you can do for the flu is rest, alot of fluids and for the aches you can take ibuprofen (motrin or advil) If his fever reaches over 103, i would definately call his doctor.

first try and convince him to see a doc. tylenol or motrin works well on fevers and joint pain, and there are tons of cough meds out there. he could try these but if these symptoms last longer then 4 or 5 days he really should seek medical advice in case it's more serious.
Go to bed and rest, drink plenty of fluids. If your not allergic take an over the counter flu medications such as dayquil. You will probably feel better.If you don't fell better, or if you get worse, or your temp goes above 101, call a Dr.
