It's not true. But it happen between 11-15 years ago. Not today, because the cams of the police are spying everybody and in a few minutes a quadriclcle of the police will come at side of the smoker ("maconheiro", as we say here, in Rio).
Lol dont use it. A study showed that 80% of weed is laced with other drugs such as crystal meth, and cocaine to make people buy more. Don't go to Ipanema Beach.
It is possible to find people smoking marijuana in the beaches and other places in Rio like any other part of the world but usually drugs are related with violence. So I suggest you to enjoy Rio, without drugs.
