For the past few night i have been having trouble sleeping through then night...!

Question: the problem is that i go to bed in shrts and a teeshirt under a few blankets and wake up sweating profusely, so i take a blanket off (jsut the top one, none of them are really thick), andi wake up an hour later freezing cold, and the same things happens over and over all ngiht long. is this because i am sick, or is there a reason i cant figure out the right proportion of covers to clothes that will make me mot sweat all night and then freeze?

Welcome to my world lol. This is me ALLL the time. I joke and tell everyone my internal thermostat is broken. When I'm awake I freeze (as long as I'm "idle" on the computer, reading ect) but the second I go to bed and cover up I start sweating. My hubby can't even touch me, sometimes, because my skin will be so hot.
If I'm sleeping alone, it's not too much of a problem. I prefer to sleep on the floor on top of a sheet and I cover up with another sheet and a light afghan and I keep a space heater running beside me. If I start getting too hot, the heater gets turned off, then the afghan goes, then the sheet (all of this is done "second naturedly" lol)
If I'm sleeping with my hubby though- forget it. He has a pillow-top mattress and covers with two sheets and 1-2 comforters! And to make matters worse, he pins them onto the bed because I thrash around so much when sleeping on a bed that the blankets end up on the floor lol. And his combined body heat trapped under all that makes me MOST miserable.

If this problem of your is new, it could very well be a simple illness. If not, I suggest using one or two light cotton sheets. If you have a small fan, using that could help some.
Also, try sticking just one foot outside the covers- it helps regulate body temperature for some people for some reason lol

I hope it passes soon and you're able to get some proper rest!

Get an electric blanket. You can turn it on to keep warm, adjust the temperature to your liking, and if you get too hot you could just turn it off. You also won't need to use as many blankets.

I don't trust electric blankets. my mother in law had one and she got burnt from it. it depends on how old you are. you can be starting menopause. been there done that. or you can be coming down with the flu. I agree, sorry, then it is the flu. it is going around. also a stomach virus.

mmmm! Interesting. 21 too young for menopause, but could still be hormonal. like you I cover up when I go to bed with blankets, cause I am cold - then wake up sweaty and have to shake off a layer, and then I feel cold. Do you bath/shower before bed. I used to and changed to shower in the mornings when I wake up. It seems to help regulate the thermostat a bit. You might try pyjamas instead of t-shirt and shorts. But hey whatever makes you comfortable.
