Why is my urine a bright, neon green?!

Question: Lately, I've been drinking protein shakes and taking niacin pills and potassium pills. But it might be something else.

Answers: Lately, I've been drinking protein shakes and taking niacin pills and potassium pills. But it might be something else.

it's probably because there's a lot of vitamins in your protein shakes. vitamin B should be the culprit here, cause your body will try to get rid of anything you don't need, so they leave your body as urine.

check the dosage of specific vitamins in your protein shake. some proteins are dangerous if there is too much of it.

it should be fine though, because they're water soluble, so anything you don't need you will just pee it out. a lot of people who take supplements or multivitamins get colorful urine as well, so your case is pretty common.

it's perfectly normal, but if there are other symptoms and you really need assurance, go take a urine test.

We had a guy in the nursing home and his pee was green and it was because of meds but I don't remember what he was on, it was just a temporary thing though.

Has your diet changed? - Are you taking a different type of medication? - Think about those and if its not any of them, contact a doctor, You might have some sort of bladder problem.

I think you have just answered your own question , you may be taking too much protein.

Hi, How are you?
I think it's the protein shakes and pills. They aren't good for you, and you shouldn't really take them. But it could be some sort of STD. I've heard of something similar and it was an STD. Go to the Doc immediately.
Hope I Helped!

if you eat asparagus it can be green. I have read that it could be a sign of infection. Usually it is a food or other ingested substance that causes green pee, however.

Urine can have a green discolouration when a large enough dose of vitamin B is in the system.

Medication and certain foods can change the color of your urine.

the niacin and potassium form a sub-culture known as hypodroxypoxyline or HDP. the HDP ends up in your kidneys where it interacts with the amonia and pretty much just dyes your pee... used to take niacin and potassium pills the week coming up to st. patricks day lol

Some friends of my brother in law played him a trick a couple of years ago: they filled a liquor chocolate with a substance I can't remember (they studied chemistry at that time) by using a syringe. This made him piss blue or green (sorry but I can't remember the colour) for about a week. Make sure it's not a trick by someone. If it isn't, I suggest you go to the doctor right now.

You are a ninja turtle!!!

It may be a vitamin deficiency or a mineral build-up. (like a harmless overdose, if you will.) An example I can use is Pepsi. Consuming a large amount in a short space of time or on a regular basis turns the urine an odd orange colour. The only other thing i can think of is aspartame. An artificial sweetener or flavouring can affect excretory fluids.
