Help? Need help with a cut...?!

Question: I cut myself last night slicing carrots - After I got the bleeding to slow down I put a bandaid on it. This morning when I went to change the bandaid and put antibotic oinment on it the blood has dried to the other bandaid and I had to pull the bandaid off...which of course madeit bleed a little again (more like a ooze)...Is there anything I can do to keep from going through the pain of having to pull the bandaid and the starting the bleeding again? I have put oinment on it...hoping the moisture will help keep the blood from drying to the bandaid... Any suggestions?

As a first aider I think you should get a gauze pad ( they dont stick to your skin and soak up anything coming out of the cut at the same time as letting it breath therefor heal) You then get the medical tape and you stick it down. If you keep your finger raised when its bleeding it stops as much blood pumping to the cut.

Try not to put too much ointment on it as this will stop the healing process. You can use an anti bacterial wipe to clean the wound up.

Also did you knwo that plasters ( band aid ) are only made to put on for an hour or so until you can get a proper dressing put on to your cut/wound. I was told this at my first aid course.

You can get gauze pads and medical tape at your local supermarket or chemists.

Hope you feel better.

get the spray on banaids you can get now.

What he sed ^^^

wait to put the band aid on until the blood or whatever is dry.

Don't put a plaster on it. Or, you could get a special plaster for 'sensitivity' they have different types of plasters in chemists, supermarkets, and other places where they sell plasters.

Or, you could just wait till the blood is dry, and then put a plaster on it again. Hope your finger heels well!
