Why do people throw up when they see something gross???!

It is an emotional reaction. It can be the result of informal social training. We always hear people say, "Oh that's gross, I'm going puke". We see it in the movies, when something is gross.
In the Victorian Age, and in the old American South, it was fashionable for genteel ladies to faint under the slightest stress.

i wondered the same thing. maybe im just not grossed out easily
Some people just have a quick gag reaction.
maybe because our stomachs can't hold our food in when something queses it. i don't know.

This happens to me alot, i dont usually throw up but i do start to gag alot and sometimes do throw up. Most of the time its because of its smell and for me FOR SOME ODD REASON, when i see something extremely gross i accidentaly imagine someone trying to feed it to me. and then i think of it as food, which makes me throw up.When it has a bad smell i think of it as food too. i have no clue why but thats how it is for me.
Gross looking things don't really make me puke, now really gross smelling things are a whole different story!
