Question: I'm 17 years old, and I have had anxiety attacks, but this is a lot different. They aren't painful, but I do wonder if it is a physical or mental thing...does anyone know? It'd be most helpful, thanks.

If the shivers feel more like small electrical shocks and are occuring on a regular basis, you need to see a Doctor, it could be nothing just the usual shivers we all get, could be psychological or physical. Tell you parents, and see a Dr if necessary. Bend your chin all the way down to your chest, then slowly lift your head back up, if your getting the shivers when you do that report it immediately to a Dr.

Are you on any type of medications? If not it could still be a medical condition.

Maybe thin blood? Go to a Dr. to get checked out to be safe.

go to medical checkup for nervous disorders

You are cold and shivering is your body's natural way to warm itself. Also, after you eat your meals you will get chilly because your parasympathetic nervous system kicks in and slows down just about everything except your GI tract so that it can digest your food. This is why you get sleepy after you eat (and cold as well).

issues come from within, there is something you have put in hiding mode ( buried ) you need to deal with & only you know what this is.

I AM

you could be having a sezuire
and you could have epilepsey.
