I think you are marvellous, i couldn`t even spell it!

It's all in the mind.

I'm not surprised I would not agree to have this treatment done again until I had found out about the side effects. I suggest that you go to your own GP and ask his advice.

I do feel for you and I hope that you are getting the support you need. Try not to get too upset about it as hopefully the treatment will help you in the long run with your depression.

Have you been offered cognitive therapy as this is great way for you to come to terms with how you are feeling and why you are feeling this way.

I also suggest that you eat healthily and try and get some exercise as this certainly helps. Even walking for a mile a day will make all the difference...give it a try and see how you get on. And lastly I do hope that you are getting support from friends and family.

All the best and take care of yourself.

I'm sorry that your feeling this way.

Did you mean EEG or ECT (electro convulsive therapy)?

EEG is purely a measuring device which picks and a records (on a computer, or paper) the very tiny electrical signals that your brain emitts. It is not a treatment and would not affect you in any way... other than the experience of having it done.. which is a little unsettling i agree.

ECT is entirely different. It involves a quick general anaesthetic and an electrical shock to the head, to cause a seizure. It is the seizure that appears to help the severely depressed.

Try to put the experience behind you and wait for the results.
