If you want energy there is no big secret. Assuming you are in good health (and, if you haven't seen a doc in a while, you should, because there are metabolic problems that cause severe fatigue, and before you start changing anything the doc is your first stop) here's the real McCoy:

First, stop ALL sugars (anything ending in -ose ...sucrose, dextrose, fructose etc) because they sabotage your bodys ability to produce energy on a constant level. They ramp up your blood sugar, your body dumps insulin into the bloodstream to counter it, and poof! your sugar levels drop and you're tired again.

Eat a diet high in protein (1/3 of your intake) and fiber.(At least 22 grams fiber daily). Spread your food intake over 4-5 meals - no more than a bread and butter plate full of food so you are never hungry..

Take B-100 vitamins (b vitamins are natural energy boosters).

Now comes how to get you energetic. Exercise. Jump up and down, walk fast, dance at home - anything to get your heart pumping. The more you start to move around and make yourself sweat the faster your energy levels will rise.
Maybe today you can only walk to the sidewalk and back. Fine. So today do that and tomorrow do it twice. Then go another twenty feet. Run half way.. whatever you can to MOVE will start your body on its way to powering up.

The more you do, the more your body will pour out energizers. This is a guarantee: If you start today just dancing while you do housework or chores, or running up a flight of stairs instead of walking and increase your exercise by just two minutes per day for the next month, you will be totally zapped up by the end of March.
