Any body know about coldsores / fever blisters?!

Question: i have had them my whole life, i know i am more prone to them when i have a low immune system, too much sunlight...

my questions is, who of you out there has the same problem? if so what are your personal tips and remedys?
i have just got one now, i am at work, i dont have my blister cream here... what can i do in the mean time?

Herpes Simplex Virus type I (HSV-1) is a virus that is transmitted via direct contact with an infected person when they are nearing an outbreak or the lesion is erupting and hasnt crusted over.
This virus lives in the microtubules of the neurons and causes a fever blister/cold sore in the general area of infection. This happens in times of stress and immunocomprimise. The lesion lasts the better part of a week and is initially painful (this subsides by the time the lesion has crusted over).
Just prior to and during a breakout, the infected person is highly contaigious and should avoid kissing and performing oral sex as the virus will spread. Abreva, Herpecin and treatments like it are available at your local pharmacy but they are expensive.
Warm compresses will help with the pain.

try neosporin lip therapy...I didnt have a fever blister it was more like a rash from the wind.... and they got really chapped, swollen, and then they kind of split...when i used that,,, after like 3 days it started to heal...i continuously put it on

I am not trying to scare anybody but you might wanna watch this until the end.

Thanks

They are caused by so many things...sunlight, fever, illness, stress, pms....

When I have one I use Abrevia. It tends to make them last a shorter duration. There's nothing you could do until you get some medicine to put on it. Just don't touch it or mess with it. Let it dry up, then try to prevent it from cracking / bleeding.

This question is great, many people have the same problem here. we use radish smear on the blister.

Yeah, I know I don't have any and I don't want any... And you,
you should stay out of the sun. And if it's early, just wait till lunch time and go buy some cream, I'm sure you will use it in the near future.
