10 pts Help! Is this a migraine?!

Question: This happens daily. I get lightheaded and nauseous at the same time. Light and sound seem to make it worse. But at night when the sun goes down I feel fine again. My head does not hurt though it just feels like I got alot of pressure in it.

My aunt suffers from migraines and this sounds like exactly what she goes through. The nausea and lightheaded and sensitivity to light and sound are all symptoms and if it persists, you might want to talk to your doctor. My aunt used to take a cold rag and lay it on her head or hold an ice pack to the back of her neck and then go lay down in her room with the lights off and shades down so it was pitch black. This will help alleviate some of the symptoms and you will probably fall asleep. At least if you fall asleep you won't have to deal with that horrible head-pressure thing. I know how that feels, i have had it before.

it sounds like a migrane except im not sure about the nausea part

if its been going on more than a few days u need to see ur doctor

feel better soon!

Well, Lets start off by asking, Do you wear glasses? If not it maybe something there. This also may be a light sensitivity problem, i would suggest making an appointment with an eye doctor and getting a complete evaluation of the eyes and do not fail to mention this question to him. Thank you for the great question

Yep!!! Those are the signs of a full on migraine.

Your case is very typical of a migraine case, you have all the classic symptoms.

Daily... at a specific time? Like... a few hours after a meal? This could just be your blood sugar dropping low after lunch.
If the pressure is onyl on one side of your head- then a migrane is possible. If it's on both sides migrane is unlikely. Feel better!

Actually, this doesn't sound like a migraine. I used to have severe ones for 20 years. Your head does hurt, severely, when you have a migraine, usually the pain is one or both sides of your temple, a horrible throbbing! Light and sound and nausea are all part of it but I've never known a migraine to not have head pain. Lots of my family have them, including my son. I would go to the Dr and get checked. It could be you need glasses, or it could be something serious. Be safe and get checked out. Take care! Cindy
