What is the difference between a male and female doctor exam ?!

Question: I am going to assume you are talking about the difference between going to the doctor for a physical exam. This would be the difference in the exam processes for a male and female.

Female Doctor Exam: This exam will include height, weight, blood pressure, temperature check. The doctor will listen to your heart, your lungs, feel your abdomen, possibly check your reflexes. This may also include a breast exam and a brief visual inspection of the vagina to check for abnormalities. A physical does not usually include a rectal exam.

Male Doctor Exam: This exam will include height, weight, blood pressure, temperature check. The doctor will listen to your heart, your lungs, feel your abdomen, possibly check your reflexes. This exam will also include the examination of the penis and testicles and having the male cough to check for testicular abnormailities. In older men, a rectal exam may be performed in order to check the prostate. This is done by the doctor inserting 1 or 2 fingers into the rectum in order to feel the prostate gland.

Also, for further information a female gynecological exam will include. This exam will include height, weight, blood pressure, and temperature check. The doctor will listen to your heart, your lungs, feel your abdomen, possibly check your reflexes. The doctor will usually perform a breast exam and then will perform the pelvic exam. This exam involves a device called a speculum which will be inserted into the vagina. This device spreads the walls of the vagina to allow the physician to take swabs or samples to run tests and screen for cancer and disease. Following the removal of this device, the physician will insert 2 fingers into the vagina and at the same time will press down on the abdomen in order to feel the ovaries. At this time, the exam is usually done. However, some ob/gyns will choose to do a rectal exam also.

Hope this information is what you were looking for.

people feel comfortable w/ their own sex

Girls have vagina's and boys have penis's

Duh

They are the same!!

Women aren't asked to cough!! LOL!!!

Females don't turn their heads and cough.

Girls- legs are wide open

Guys- cough

well my doctor is gay so i dont know.

One is an innie and the other is an outie

Male doctors check your balls for cancer and female check breasts.

I'd rather have a female proctologist.

Physical examinations are the same for men and women except for the perhaps obvious difference:

For men, doctors examine the testes and penis for irregularities.

For women, doctors examine the vagina for irregularities. And perhaps also the breasts, though men also have their chests examined similarly.

If your a guy, it's more pleasurable having a female doctor check your prostate!

woman get breast and pelvic exams. Like a papsmear. and men don't have breasts to check and sometimes get prostate exam, and obviously men don't have ovaries or vaginas, so they don't get asked about pregnancy etc.

ummm well boys dont have the same physical apperance as girls so they cant.... GOD! cant do it nicely Girls have a place for blood and boys dont! so The doctors have to examine some different things in a girl then in a boy. and so different doctors have different knowledge. Its kinda weird but its the truth deal with it.

Hello, Male and Female drs are the same...they went to the same type schools...Now, as for being the patient...girls have a vagina, boys have a penis...for girls, the dr looks inside from between their legs...boys get checked by standing there, turning their head and coughing while the dr has their hand in the groin area....girls get breast exam ALTHOUGH BOTH MEN AND WOMEN HAVE THEM....girls usually are bigger, just know some men have larger than normal breast tissue and also need to be checked for breast lumps....NOTHING TO BE SCARED OF....NURSE SHOULD A L W A Y S be present during this exam....girls usually prefer woman dr because we know they would understand us better....more empathetic.....They have same thing...GOD BLESS!! GOOD QUESTION......Mary
