I've become really lazy lately, i need help! procrastinate?!

Question: What can i do to get back on track? Im a Sophomore in high school, and i have been so lazy lately, i procrastinate so much and when i get home i barely do any of the homework. I used to be a straight A student and now im like in the B's. I have been going out a lot lately and i go to the gym to work out after school, but when i go home i don't do my homework. Its mostly because im so tempted to go on the computer and i always stay on for a long time. I've also been going to sleep really late, which makes me really tired and unable to pay attention in most classes. I really need some help getting back on track and doing my work.

WOW, good for you, great assessment in determining conclusive 'cause & effect'. I give you alot of credit for recognizing your procastinating behavior as well as the other points you mentioned in your question. That my friend is half the battle! Now that you identified the reasons behind your behavior you should be commended~ kudo's to you! Seems that you are mature for your age with a good head on your shoulders. You simply need to take another look at your priorities & be good to yourself by setting some short term attainable goals. For each goal that you reach, reward yourself with something you enjoy, maybe let the reward be 'computer time'. I say that because it sounds as if that is one of the most magnetic activity which causes interference with you achieving what you KNOW you need to. You are NOT alone with the computer temptations, we all have some degree of it, just some are worse than others. I myself spend more time than I intend out here answering questions(in hopes my word will have a positive influence & do someone good one day)...
I hope that you give yourself some credit for recognizing the problem as well as taking responsibilty for your behavior. I trust that you will overcome this & look back one day as you travel life's pathways. Do try to 'nip this thing in the butt'....try to reduce the nights out, get your homework done BEFORE you allow yourself the leisure activities you KNOW you enjoy! Let 'looking forward to doing those leisure things' be your motivating factor; get some rest at night, set a good time to 'go to bed' every week night & Sunday night a hour earlier, simply so you can get the rest you need. Make sure that you eat a good breakfast every morning & you will feel more attentive in class eventually. Drink some vitamin water, like Propel it's a good motivator as well as a healthy one. Later in the evenings about a half hour before bedtime, take a Melatonin (OTC- found at any drug store or Walmart even) & go directly to bed without watching TV ...the first half hour is when the Melatonin really works, you can stay awake when you take it, but IF you take it one half hour before intended sleeptime, your chances of good sound sleep are increased! Melatonin is our body's way of telling us it is night-time & the hour of restful sleep, that is what our bodies naturally have & release to message our brain it is bedtime. Try it~ Take care~
